Book Review
The book I am doing a review over is The Last Apprentice Wrath of the Bloodeye, to kick this book off it is all fiction, it contains magic, witches, battles between wizards and fiends. Tom, the spooks apprentice, has been training with him ever since he was a child, Toms first experience he had feared was being face to face with a witch. Now this is book Five out of Seven I believe, but his first encounter with a witch had not been as bad as he planned it to be. Reason being for that is because he has the spook with him, although they have kill witches in the spooks garden where he leaves them after they catch them and drain their inner spirit so they do not have enough strength to defend themselves and eventually get slain. This witch Tom was faced with was not like the others, she was half Deane and half Malkin, two different witch tribes that are complete opposites, Alice the name of Toms first capture turns out to be a big role in Apprentice training. Not only has she saved him from being drafted off into the army by this press-gang that forces who ever they want into joining the army after they lose men already fighting. There is a greater strength that tom has to fear being the Devil himself later on in the story. The gender role of fiend and witches were all women, this was set during the time of the black plague but is still a fictional read. I plan on reading the rest of this series soon reading the other two or three books, but if you enjoy reading about witch craft, battle between fiends, boggarts, and having wizards mixed in to it all, The Last Apprentice will keep you reading until the very end. I would give this book a 5/5.

In a article written by Shannon Ruane on April 4, 2013 called "Civic Issues" Explaining some of the effects of Female Gender Roles in Society. She briefly touched upon some female roles in her previous post but she did not give a lot of direct social effects that women have.
Looking back in history it's easy to see what has and has not changed from 100's of years ago, to today's standings. As a science major she looks at the science side, being that women in society stem from their functions of giving birth, raise the kids, taking care of the house chores, while the men would be out killing, hunting, the more of a aggressive worker. All of this started since the earliest of society, few societies were matriarchal opposed to patriarchal because men were typically the stronger more aggressive of the two individuals.
Society has taken bigger steps into equalizing male and female roles, jobs, and any other difference that would make either gender looked at differently. Women are suppose to stay home and take care of the house and cook. Obviously these roles stem from the very first role of females in nature as loving, and caring gender, where men were looked at as the one who supplies food from hunting, and out traveling, trading, etc.
An idea of women should stay home, able's us to apply what job and education women have. Men went out and received a more typical education (math, English, history) girls, if sent to school where sent to finish learning sewing, etiquette, and maybe a little arithmetic to help house hold matters. Women stayed home to read, learned to write, while men took their education they earned and made a job out of it to supply either themselves or their family.
Still into today society women are portrayed as the helpless damsel in distress, look at movies and books. From Snow White to Sleep Beauty, famous females are figures of someone who needs to be saved in the end. As children girls get dolls, while boys get video games, "strong" action figures, tool sets, women are valued by their looks and appearance. All of these things may seem small and insignificant but the small things can add up and effects they have on society are pretty obvious.
Adding all of this up is depends on how you are raised, you could be a female playing with "strong" action figures instead of dolls, but seeing how people act in society shows how they were raised and women are still looked upon as the weaker role and are here for their beauty in looks, I still don't think that's all its about, but reading this is what comes to me and I do not see the difference as a trained female killing a wolf, over a trained male killing a wolf.

In a recent article written by Abby Kaplan called "Traditional Gender roles" explains how society has a affect on gender roles such as women in a negative way, saying if you ask people weather women have equal trade in the real world people will say yes. But in reality they get judge and critiqued harder than a man applying for a job would.
In 2007,an average women earned 78 cents compared to a dollar that a man earned in the same position, in a life time earnings that adds up to $700,000 to $2,000,00 less than a man would earn in a lifetime career earnings. A recent study looking at two resumes one a women and one a mans, it shows that the women's resume was judged and graded harder than the mans was, giving the women a lower score this shows that the message is clear that men are still considered superior to women.
General society expects more from men than women, men being the breadwinners of the household and women stay at home taking care of the children and work needed to be in or around the house. Yes women do work business jobs but its still an expectation, women must chose between a career, job, or being called a bad parent for not supporting the family. Men do not have to put up with all the junk people can give them about being a bad father/husband, if they do not work they are told they are neglecting their family.
Women are looked at as working in different areas than men, childcare, social work, heath aid type jobs, jobs that pay less than "masculine" jobs such as any works from math and science degree. In some countries boys are valued so much more than girls that women will have an abortion if they find out that their child is a girl, The discrimination is more subtle, but still exists.
My thoughts on the whole men dominate women is just beyond stupidity to me, if women want to be a lumberjack worker why must they be judged, if she works out she could be small but lift more than the biggest guy there. But that's just one of my thoughts on this, I see it as men can do anything women do and a women can do anything a man can do, even if it requires them to do it differently they can still do it.

In a recent CNN article about "Obama's Health Care" posted by Leigh Ann Caldwell explaining how Obama Care is improving in the problem-plagued HeathCare, the website will not be "perfect" on November 30, when it is said to have been promised to start running.
The House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrel Issa asked White House Chief Technology Officer Todd Park if the Obamacare website will be running by the end of the month. Park did not answer yes or no. He said the team assembled to fix it, they are working incredibly "hard" to fix it. I highly doubt that. But White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters shortly after that it is "on track" for the site to be working smoothly by the deadline that has not been given.
The website is the primary federal portal between to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. Stated have separated web-based systems for consumers to register as well. Since the troubled launch on October 1 when it could not perform basic functions a website should be able to do. Increasing the amount of users able to be on the website at once was initially set at 17,000. Well that just wasn't enough even though the site itself could not run properly they increased the number of people to 25,000 all are able to register with each hour.
Although it has been improved, it still far short of administration's goal of increasing the capacity of users to 50,000 per hour. While capacity numbers have released, Obamacare enrollment figures have not. Park told the committee those were due out shortly. Park is one of several government IT officers who testified at the 1/2 hour oversight hearing. In the first hour, both Park and Henry Chao, deputy chief information officer for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, called the problems with the website "unacceptable."
During Issa's opening statement, he said HeathCare.gov was "not a small mistake." He said it went live and effectively exploded on the launch pad. The president should have known Issa added that they were not ready. They were not close to ready at all. James Lankford demonstrated the website's continuing problems by holding up his iPad and saying he had been trying to use the site for about 90 minutes now. But when he hit the "create account" button, it did not take him to the next screen it just changed colors.
Now for a human not caring about Obama care the website was a stupid idea in general. I hate using the word stupid anywhere but this is my one agreement. If changing a healthcare bill that was already in place for people is what he wanted he is doing good and bad at it. First off he has the bill on hold still and they are just funding Obama money to continue to create this never ending bill and all the money Obama is getting to create this bill could go to people who are homeless or to different countries that actually need it. But what can you do as one person fighting a unbreakable government sitting behind a desk giving them power.

In a recent new article from ABC News7 "Some school districts quit healthier lunch program" by Carolyn Thompson states, That after one year of the "Federal Lunch Program" some schools are dropping out, complaining that students were not eating and the cafeterias are losing money.
Federal official say they do not have exact numbers but have seen isolated reports of schools cutting issues with the $11 billion National School Lunch Program. Districts that rejected the program say the reimbursement was not enough to offset losses from students who began avoiding the lunch line and bringing food from home, or skipping lunch starving themselves. Now being hungry is not pleasing to be in class with a rumbling stomach and trying to take a test, its distracting and you are thinking of food instead of the current test you are taking, increasing the chances you have at failing.
One Superintendent Gary Lewis, who's district saw a 10 to 12 percent drop in lunch sales translating into $30,000 lost under the program last year. In upstate New York a few districts have quit the program, including the Schenectady-area Burnt hills Ballston Lake system, who's five lunchrooms ended the year in $100,000 in the red.
Near Albany, Voorheesville Superintendent Teresa Thayer Snyder said her district lost $30,000 in the first three months. The program did not even make it through the school year after students repeatedly complained about the small portions and apples and pears went from the tray to the trash untouched. Districts that leave the program are free to develop their own guidelines Voorheesville's chef began serving such as salads topped with flank steak, chicken , crumbled cheese, and pasta.
Now with the Lunch program in place 31 million students participated in the guidelines that took effect last fall under the 2010 Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act. Now 31 million looking at it looks like a big number, but all around the world and counting all the schools, that 31 million is not so big anymore, if the schools were to drop the Lunch Program that number will drop constantly. Will the lunch be healthy? Probably not but it is better to have fed a child then leave them starving all day.

CC#4 Japan views America
CNN news report February 18th, Bruce stokes explains how "Japan views America" seeing the world. Prime minister Shinzo Abe travels to Washington this week to meet with Barack Obama, Both leaders are riding a wave of relative popularity at home. Strengthening their hands in dealing with mutual international challenges. Unlike Japan bashing days of the 1980s when fear and resentment poisoned popular opinion on specific issues in both countries is likely to shape with Abe and Obama can and cannot accomplish.
Meanwhile about six in ten Americans today trust Japan, according to a Pew Research poll the only nation they trust more is the United Kingdom, which is trusted by three quarters of Americans. Japanese returns the goodwill 72 percent have a favorable view of the United States one of the top favorable ratings among 21 ratings. Administrations would like to see Japan join the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
To me Japan can be lethal but at this point I feel they can strike at any moment, But knowing we will retaliate if we have no done to late, there should be nothing to really fear on how they view us viewing everyone else starting pointless wars.

Topic Of Choice
Now parents disapprove of video games because it shows there kids violence if they let them play a specific game, even after they are informed it contains violence. I'm strictly sticking to Mortal Kombat during this because it has been the most focused game the government has tried taking off the shelves. It contain Blood, Gore, Cussing, and half naked people it has also been one the most known games due to how long it has been around. When parent catch their kids cussing and pretend fighting like they are ripping someones heart out they have the most messed up look on their face asking themselves why did I left my kid play that game.
Video games are far from a bad influence on kids, the parent that make a huge deal about kids play being to violent shouldn't have much to care for when they get older. If a child is introduced to Mortal Kombat at a early age they might enjoy the entertainment it brings, coming from my point of view because I was one of the kids that grew up with the choice to play this type of game. I have had no problem getting over pretend play ripping someones hear out.
There is no reason to stop kids from playing violent video games unless you are a parent that is completely against it then that is your choice to decide what they play, or are introduced to. Having violent video games don't make kids violent its the people who take the "kids play" to serious.

CC#4 Wrestling might be cut!
CNN post in a recent article about "Wrestling may be cut from the Olympics" due to losing its grip. "The Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee announced Tuesday that it has recommended dropping the sport from the Summer Games beginning in 2020." Why are they bringing this up? Because Wresting has now fallen into the shortlist of sports with many other sports.
The sports being chosen for 2020 Olympics will be the deciding point if Wrestling will stay, the votes will come in the IOC general session in Argentina in September. Whichever sport is chosen will join the 25 sports the IOC listed Tuesday as core sports for 2020. Wrestling is still included in 2016 Olympics in Roi de Janeiro. Wrestling has been around the Olympics since 1896 only missing the 1900 games in Paris.
I would prefer the Olympics not to discontinue Wrestling, I enjoyed watching people go at it for Five minutes and still being able to hold each other on the ground pushing one another out of the circle like sumo wrestlers. If it does get canceled there is nothing we can really do about it because apparently its not up to the people.

Book Log #1
American Sniper, a story told for one of the most known snipers in the Army. Chris Kyle the sniper that rose above all ranks in the system to distinguished himself as the best. This book setting is set during training, or boot camp for snipers, Kyle explained what it was like to have gone through all of the work and what it took to get to be where he is at. Kyle had spent multiple years studying during and before the camp, needing to know how to determine where to aim if winds are at such and such speeds. Every member has a spotter who basically does all that for them, but he doesn't do it for them, they are given coordinates to hit the target they are aiming for. American Sniper explains what it is also like to be on the front lines where you have many lives counting on you to get your role done and not mess up. Being on the front lines from Kyle's view was worse then what he had predicted it to be, not only was his first mission he was sent on nerve racking due to high priorities he needed to accomplished he has never shot and killed as many Iraq soldiers as he thought he would have needed to. But from what all Kyle had achieved he was sent on multiple missions after the first. Kyle had eventually obtained multiple badges for his hard work he had done. In the long run this book is very interesting to me, I enjoy the Army, anything about guns basically, would I recommend this book? Yes, if you enjoy intense action and some background knowledge on what it takes to do what he does this book will most likely suit your needs.

CC3# Job Avoid job-killing budget cuts
In a recent article by Barbara Boxer "How to avoid job-killing budget cuts" talking about "self-inflicted wounds to our economy." Commons sense ways that you can reduce our deficit and avert the squesters, if this happens it can atleast domesticate programs bringing $1.2 trillion cuts over a 10 year spand. "We should begin by applying the nearly $700 billion in savings from ending the war in Iraq and Afghanistan toward reducing the deficit and avoiding these automatic cuts.
If everyone keeps participating in these self-inflicting wounds on the economy, "all of the cuts would stack on top of the $1.5 trillion in spending cuts that we already approved since President Barack Obama took office." The house of Republicans have said their alternative to avoiding the squester, know as "Plan C" this plan would spare the Pentagon any pain, but slash investments into the middle class, seniors, children and the poor.
The top priority should be strengthening the economy not hurting it so much that no matter what the government does, it doesn't effect the middle class, seniors, and poor. All of economic strengths should produce more jobs opportunities for people so that no one will have to deal with low paying checks, and if they don't take a job offer or just sit in the street begging for money, they are probably to lazy to take care of themself. "Balanced approach of new revenues."
My approach or thought on this is... If this problem goes any farther down then what it is, I probably will not have a job to work at at the age of 30, leaving me with no income, no income means that I cannot buy anything, go places, or eat when ever I want to. I do not want to grow up not having a job or dream that gives money to do anything I would enjoy going places and living another day.

American Dream
The American Dream loved by millions of people who want to make something good out of themselves or America. Things from my point of view seem as if poeple care more for their dream instead of the country dream.
I begin one of the million people to want their American dream to come true, does not have a massive dream that can change the life of everyone. Video game designing has been my dream for many years now. Growing up with video games was the coolest child hood I could ask for, this is why veideo designing is so important to me. To obtain my life long dream, computer classes, art classes and patience. To fully understand what im doing it will take around fives years for the basics. Since technology is constantly getting better you honestly cant be your fullest when in desingning programs.
Infering that this is not an easy dream to take hold of becoming a designer is life changing for me in so many ways. Not only am I achieving me dream I can spread endless joy after producing new products. Designing a game brings in a lot of money, money I can eventually donate to charity, to give to people struggling to make it past the next day. Non the less my dream is big, big to me, big to my family it will take a life long journey to learn all of the machanics.
Other accomplishment thats come with my dream is being able or having the chance to travel around the world. This gives me plenty of opportunitys to go to other schools or buisnesses that might be able to teach me something about designing I may have not known. There are so many things needed to know and remember to be able to achieve my American Dream no its not for the country it is for me.
All of this summed up in a ball is basically a plan on being a Game designer who loves what he does and wants to impact or create something new out of my job that has never been seen or done before.

CC#1 2013 GunCrontrol
Gun Control Laws, Tom Cohen CNN post a response about the new "Gun Control" laws that the president is not trying to push to pass. The massacre at Colorado movie theater brought attention to dormant gun control debate, but neither president Barack Obama or candidate Mitt Romney is pushing for. In July 20th shooting in Aurora, Colorado, by a lone gunman who killed 12 people and the wounded have brought the debate back to the front line, during Obama's run to Colorado to give a speech to all of the victims family members, he avoided any gun control talk when expressing support for Second Amendment rights.
"I also believe that a lot of gun owners would agree that AK-47s belong in the hands of soldiers, not in the hands of criminals," a quote from Obama saying that they belong in war and not in the streets of cities. "Soothing words are nice, but maybe it's time that the two people who want to be president of the United States stand up and tell us what they are going to do about it, because this is obviously a problem across the country," Bloomberg a supporter of the independent people who support gun control. Conservatives had called for action, withe mogul Rupert Murdoch tweeting after last week's shooting that they have to do something about guns.
Gun control does play a big role in today's society reason being all the murders, crimes, and what ever else happens usually it happens because people have the rights to carry guns. I am far against gun control being placed into everyone's lives taking away what they have the right to own, things that should come into place when buying a gun is someones background history, not their whole life story but stuff like if they have had issues, or born with a problem that makes them go insane. To me and my family or how this affects us would not go to easy, we have many of "weapons" that we enjoy shooting at ranges, or just for collection. If I had any saying in if gun control should be enforced I would be on the side were every other gun owner would be saying no to gun control laws.

New Proposal from China trying to end the the conflict in Syria. "New Proposal" calls for a stronger international support for refugees and a truce brought about in phases, including that Bashar al-Assad doesn't have to step down from President. Then on November 11, Syria groups agreed to form new governing body that will unify the many rebel groups under one umbrella. Syria National Initiative will replace the Syrian National Council, which has come to under fire for not doing its job, and having the worker, leaders not living in Syria. The new Initiative will call for younger leaders and strong representatives in Syria. What ends up happening is missiles get fired from one town to the other, mortars are dropped, and tanks, soldiers go into battle against one another.
Truly i don't think that there is a way to get involved with problems like this unless I was in the war myself, or just study problems that they have happened ever since the New Proposal has gone into affect, if they keep fighting there will most likely be updates on how the war/fight is going, if not if will just be like yay, they signed the Treaty no more violence.

Reasoning for many of years and years to come, everyone argues about "At what point does defending one's ideals turn into indefensible hysteria." People usually defend their ideals can take it to far or past the point were explaining something will be taken serious. To me ideals should not even be taking serious since its just a satisfying thought, unless the person you are chatting with looks you in the eyes and yells at you saying hes going to do this and that, there is no reason ideals should ever be fought over, I can see people sending explanations back and forth to each other but crossing the line or taking it to far should just be ignored. Defending your ideal is probably one of the main things to worry about when swapping decent thoughts of ideals, or just having information to back up your train of thought. When you or your partner start yelling at each other or getting mad looks all over your face, steam coming out of your ears, then someone knows someone has gone to far in defending their ideal.

CC# 4 Bacteria inside caffine??
A recent discovery by scientist have stated that there is bacteria inside coffee. Now coffee is needed for everyone in the morning to start their day off and get on track. So does that mean that everyone is begin harmed by this new bacteria inside coffee?
No, no one is truly being harmed, the bacteria is just like the bacteria inside a cows, or rabbits stomach. It breaks down the cellulose from grass so that it can be digested. Coffee is not digested it is put into the blood stream to make everything seem all happy and get people day going! Scientist say that people say they cannot live without coffee are completely off track of what they think coffee is. What truly cannot live without coffee is the bacteria inside coffee that does not seem to serve a purpose.
My take on this is that I am not a coffee person and if I was this would probably not be enough to make me stop drinking it. The scientist even state that it does nothing to harm you.

CC # 3 Army UFO's
A recent article on FoxNews.com about "The army now building or attempting to build flying space saucers," back in 2009 Obama signed a 400 million page packet that pretty much allowed these tech guys to go threw old military cardboard boxes that had pages upon pages in them. They ended up finding these notes on making UFO's dating back to 1956.
They found 114-pages on the whole project. Down to the very last detail on how to make one of these flying saucers actually work. After the discovery of these pages the military put time into making one for $3.2 million dollars. They got the flying saucer in the sky, but when they hit a certain point of altitude the spaceship started to wobble uncontrollably. It came with a Ram jet engine, seat injector, and they are trying to put bombs onto the spacecraft to make a new stealth strike vehicle that cannot be detected.
My thoughts on this are that there are thousands upon thousands of people out there that claim to have seen at least one UFO, now besides the people that wear tin-foil on their head all of those people are crazy. I don't believe in anything that has to do with UFO's or Aliens. But that is a whole different subject.

CC#2 Unemployment Rate Drops
A recent Post on Factmonster, "The U.S. unemployment rate falls," to 7.8 percent in September. Making September 2012 the lowest month for unemployment in 44 months. It is a positive sign for a struggling economy. Obama can get a boost from this in the upcoming election. 12.1million unemployed Americans, that is the fewest numbers of unemployed since January 2009.
People being unemployed lead to unhappy relations with the family, there will be financial problems, even losing you're house for not paying bills. This seems that we either are getting lazy and getting fired for not doing what we are told, or that the company cannot hold or pay all the employes that are working.
Really at a young age there is not much i can do to get involved with helping this problem but throw out idea's that hopefully get spread around. If I can get involved either physically or mentally, I would start something about making more jobs that is healthy to the country, and will not put other people in trouble, or any problems. For are up coming election both candidates are trying to help expand problems with unemployment's. If either of them fail at making this the rates for unemployment will probably keep dropping unless the economy changes dramatically.

CC#1 Turmoil in the Middle East
In a recent article by Tom Marshall, a New York Times reporter "Teaching About the Video that Roiled the Muslim World." A Anti American protests spread like wildfire about a week ago throughout the
Muslim world, raising profound thoughts about free speech, technology
and the limits of diplomacy, an obscure group of filmmakers posted a video mocking the central tenets of Islam quickly turns violent.
On September 11, rioters forced their way into the United States Embassy compound in Cairo and laid siege to the Consulate in Benghazi. Three of the staff members had been killed, with organized militants possibly being in the assault. The Protest had spread across the world, from North Africa and the Middle East to Australia. Ways to stop this hot topic from happening over and over?
I could connect to "Ways to Teach the Turmoil in the Middle East." is becoming apart with the situation they are facing and help spread Turmoil throughout the world, or in specific regions such as the Middle East. Stopping all these protestors will probably never happen because people always pass dumb laws, or do dumb things that end up on someone bad side that just doesn't go with them starting riots and then riots turn into huge fight's that end up getting people killed or injured.

Jordan's Bucketlist
1. Th1rteen R3asons- by Jay Asher: What i had heard about this book made me want to read it. I want to read what she gets told or how they had made fun of her. I also want to see what the tapes had on them how they made her seem like she meant nothing to anyone or anything.
2.Paper Towns- by John Green: About two weeks ago my teacher showed our class a John Green book called Paper Towns, I didn't really follow along with what he was explaining about the book but, I really want to read this book finding out what this "Paper Town" is. Is it a real town or a fake.
3.The Hunger Game series- by Suizan Collins: I watched the movie, are English teacher says you cannot just watch the movie when there is both a movie and book, you have to read both she says. So by her saying the book explains more I want to see if the movie had left something out or gave little detail then the movie.
4.Book Thief- by Markus Zusak: Mrs.Gilmore recommended that we at least have to read Book Thief if we have not by the end of the year, Not only getting recommended by a teacher the book is well known and I would like to know what the "Book Thief" is or what journey it has for me.
5.Clock Work Series- by Casandra Clare: A fan of fiction knowing that you can turn back time or go into the future with a clock would be amazing. I have not read the Trilogy to Clock work series. Even though this book looks amazing to read I did not enjoy the story it seemed to have behind it when the trailer was playing.
6.Its a Book- by Lane Smith: Well to start off the reason I would like to read this is because, Its not any thing special it is just a book. It did not explain really anything about the book other then just saying ITS A BOOK over and over. I want to see what the book is truly about knowing it is not a electronic.
7.Last Shot- by John Feinstein: Basketball is one of my favorite sport, besides that the book seems like there is a very important game on the line. Is it for money? Is it for a Scholarship? I do not know it could just be a shot that makes a team go undefeated for their perfect season.
8.The Kite Runner- Khalled Hasseini: Last year I got recommended by two teachers to read The Kite Runner, we even watched a little spotlight about it. I do not remember really anything about the spotlight but would like to read the boo.
9.Storm Keeper- Anthony Horowitz: I have read parts of the book before, but I put it down and just left it there. I would like to finish reading this and remember what had happened during the whole two chapters I had read three years ago.
10.Killer Sea- by Simon and Schinster: I have no idea or had anyone recommend this book to me. I would like to know if there is a specific event that happened that there talking about "Killer Sea" or if its just a made of book about a sea that is haunted and floods a town every year .
